【A Brief Overview of NTNU】

NTNU is committed to improving the quality of its teaching and research as well as its international competitiveness. It has won the Ministry of Education's Creating Top-notch Universities with NT$50 billion over 5 Years Program, making it the only comprehensive university with humanities and arts features among the 12 top universities in Taiwan.

In an evaluation released by the U.S. News & World Report of the best global universities in 2024, NTNU is Ranked 7th in Best Global Universities for Education and Educational Research, its place alongside Oxford and London among the top ten in the world also raises the international profile of Taiwan’s research ability.

National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) has outstanding expertise in the field of Chinese language education. The College of Continuing and Extension Education (hereafter referred to as the College) brings together academic units such as the Department of Chinese as a Second Language, the National Language Teaching Center, and the Center for Psychology and Assessment, effectively integrating abundant academic resources and innovative research and development technologies from both inside and outside the university. For many years, the College has been entrusted by various government agencies to organize overseas youth language study programs and Chinese language teacher training workshops, among other educational activities, and has been deeply committed to Chinese language teaching and teacher training.

Since 2008, our institution has consistently offered over 10 teacher training courses each year, providing opportunities for those interested in becoming Chinese language educators both domestically and internationally, as well as instructors at Chinese language teaching centers in major universities and researchers in Chinese language education. In response to the growing demand for talent in key industries and the need for teachers in international cultural exchanges, we have established the "Chinese Language Garden." Each year, more than a hundred learning partners from various fields join us, starting their journey here at the College and eventually becoming Chinese language teachers around the world, making significant contributions to the field of Chinese language education. In the future, we hope to attract even more talented individuals to join the ranks of the Chinese Language Garden, and, with abundant teaching resources, a professional faculty, and diverse learning programs, work together to enhance Taiwan's international visibility and cultural influence.
